The mural at Melrose was painted on a very awkward wall and besides adding beauty and interest it covers many sins on the original multi shaded pink wall. This colorful mural was intended to convey the beauty of nature in a  playful way to engage the young students. There are a multitude of animals in the mural including a monkey pulling a lions tail and an elephant spraying water positioned on top of a real water fountain. Many volunteers including the students participated in the project.
