32nd St. Elementary "Empowerment Mural" was created to encourage the students by utilizing positive symbols from Native Indian and African Cultures. The symbols are painted stylistically in a rich brown outlined in a bright red, blue or green with a written description of symbol below. As this mural concept was community based the principal suggested the concept and as the artist I researched the images and developed and implemented the project. I was assisted by some USC art students in the painting of the mural.
